The Ink Factory Lyon #5

A former flagship of industry at the heart of Lyon’s working history, the Fagor-Brandt household appliances factory, located in the Gerland district of Lyon, extended over a site of 4.5 hectares (110,000 m² of which 73,000 m² of covered buildings), today partially under renovation.

If, at the beginning of the 1980s, the factory still employed 1,800 workers, there were only just under 400 in the 2000s. Production was gradually relocated from 2005 and the factory was resold to SITL, then to Cenntro Motors in 2010. As its reconversion into the production of electric cars began, the factory declined until its closure in 2015.

The site, currently unused on 29,000 m2, now hosts cultural events.
